Utah
offers great kiteboarding, kitesurfing, and snowkiting year
round. The Utah elements of water,
land, and snow offer riding for everyone to enjoy. If you enjoy
boating, wake boarding, or
windsurfing, try out kiteboarding or kitesurfing on one of Utah's
lakes. If you prefer to stay dry and you enjoy mountain biking or skate
boarding
try kiteboarding or kitesurfing on a land board or mountain
board. If you are an
avid skier or snowboarder then you will love kite snowboarding or
kite
skiing, also referred to as snow kiting.
kiteboarding on
water
Utah offers a great season for
kiteboarding on water - or kitesurfing. The season starts
around
April as the water in the lakes and reservoirs start to warm
up. The end
of the season is around October. There are plenty of water
bodies
all over the state of Utah and many have not yet seen
kiteboarding. For more info on where to ride check out
our launch sites page.
kiteboarding on land
Utah offers
a wide
variety of terrain for kite boarding or kite surfing on land, also
referred to as land boarding or mountain
boarding. Try the sand dunes
north of Delta for some fun in the sun or try the world
famous Salt
Flats which offer vast open spaces and smooth riding. For
the
adventurous riders try going onto the foothills of the west
mountains
where you can ride uphill or take a downhill ride for some fast
speed and
big air. If you feel like driving give Moab a try and pack
your
mountain bikes for when you get tired of ripping and jumping over
the
incredible terrain. Don't forget your camera - please send us a
picture
too.
kiteboarding
on snow
Utah's snow is of course the
best on earth. When you add a kite it's unbelievable.
Kiteboarding
on snow or "snowkiting" is incredible. No
lift
lines, No lift tickets, uphill, downhill, cross country, whatever
you want
to do... it's up to your imagination. You've never
experienced
skiing or snowboarding until you lock into your bindings and grab
hold of
a kite. You will love
kite snowboarding or kite skiing, also
referred to
as snow kiting. The speed is intense yet
graceful. The jumps are
breath taking and the silence is like skiing in heaven. You've got
to
experience this. -
